A Four Day Weekend in Northern California for $100

This past weekend I took a trip to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe, California. The flight, hotels and rental car only cost me $100 total and it could have ended up being a lot less! I used American Airlines miles to fly from New Orleans to San Francisco. This usually costs 25,000 miles and $10 in taxes and fees if you book before 21 days of departure. Also, if you have a Citibank American Air credit card you receive a 10% refund of points used. So it only "cost" me 22,500 points to take this flight. I didn't book before 21 days of departure so I had to pay a $75 late fee to book, which is a bummer, bringing my total amount paid for the flight to $85. Still not bad at all for a flight that would normally cost anywhere from $300-500+ depending on when you go and when you book. The Windy City (Part 2)

As you probably already know, there are many things to see and do in Chicago, but what we really want to hear about is the food! Am I right or am I right?! Although we were only in Chicago for a couple nights and did not get to eat a lot of places, the places we did try were phenomenal. I will tell you about them plus a few other hot spots that people are talking about and worth checking out when in town. Outside Giordano's on Rush and E. Superior Now, everyone knows you can go just about anywhere and get a pizza. And as a matter of fact, the pizza will most likely taste great. But until you try an original stuffed deep-dish pizza in Chicago, you’ve never really had pizza. I will start off with the place I cannot wait to go back to the next time I happen to be anywhere near Chicago. That place is called Giordano's! It is quite frankly the best pizza I have ever had. The Windy City (Part 3)

There are so many hotels to stay at in downtown Chicago that picking the right one for your trip may feel a little intimidating to you. I was a little overwhelmed myself with trying to find a nice hotel at a decent price. Although where I ended up staying wasn't the nicest hotel around, I got a decent price for it. And like I have said in earlier posts, there just isn't really a bad location to stay at while in Chicago. We were just four or five blocks away from Michigan Ave. (The Magnificent Mile) and only three blocks from downtown Chicago.  We were also just three blocks from the nearest subway/train station. I'll go through a list of twenty or so hotels here. There are a few bargain, three-star type hotels on the list, but most will be four and five-star upscale and luxury places to stay.
